Also, you can use the Gamblers Anonymous web site as a reliable source of meeting list information. Meeting Formats An "Open" meeting is one in which spouses, family and friends of the problem gambler are welcome to attend and observe the meeting. A "Closed" meeting is one in which only those with a gambling problem -- or those who think they may have a gambling problem and have a desire to stop gambling -- may attend and participate. A "Step" meeting is one in which the 12 Steps of the Recovery and/or Unity Program are reviewed and studied. A "Beginners’" meeting is suited for new Gamblers Anonymous members. A "G.A.-Gam-Anon Combined" therapy open meeting is one in which members of both groups – Gamblers Anonymous and Gam-Anon – may attend, participate and speak.
